Lina Abou Farraj
Center Coordinator

Lina Abou Farraj holds a B.A. in Business Administartion Systems from the Arab Open University in Kuwait and a Master's Degree in Business Administration for the Modern University for Science and Technology. Abou Farraj also holds a Training Diploma in Computing & Programming from the American University of Cairo (AUC). In addition, Abou Farraj has received National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)in Training & Development as well as NVQ in Administration, both from EDEXCEL in the United Kingdom. Abou Farraj has been working with CCECS since its establishment in 2008.

Oversees adminitrative matters pertaining to CCECS.
Mounir Mabsout
Director

Mounir Mabsout has served as the director of the Center since March 2008. He is also a professor of Civil Engineering (CE) at AUB, which he joined in 1991. He received a PhD in Civil Engineering in 1991 from the University of Texas at Austin. He has a Master of Science (1987) from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Engineering (1981) from AUB. As a faculty member, he worked to engage students and faculty in community service and development, and he initiated, with the Civil Engineering Society (CES), the first summer volunteering camp in June 2006, which has since become a yearly activity. He was further involved as a member and then chair of the Task Force for Reconstruction and Community Service (TFRCS) which the president of AUB established during the July 2006 war on Lebanon to look into the university's strategies in trying to relieve human suffering and the effects of the war. The aim of the TFRCS evolved to encompass community service and development as a strategic goal for the university. Mabsout has been a full-time faculty member at AUB for 18 years in the rank of Professor (since 2003) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which he chaired between 2003 and 2006. He led and coordinated major initiatives such as the establishment of the PhD programs in the department, the initiation of a new undergraduate program in Construction Engineering, and the preparations for the ABET accreditation for the CEE undergraduate program. In addition to his academic career that entails publishing refereed research papers in international journals and coauthoring a book on highway bridges, he has an extensive professional experience as a civil and structural engineering consultant.

Olga Majzoub
Project Coordinator

Olga Majzoub holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Communications Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut. Olga has extensive volunteering experience with JCI Lebanon affiliated to Junior Chamber International. She is a founding member and held several leadership positions. She served as JCI Beirut President in 2006, Africa and Middle East Development Council (AMDEC) North Meeting Director in 2007, as well as a National President in 2011. She is also an international trainer and a painter by hobby.

Olga coordinates outreach and volunteering activities with NGOs. Her role is to provide volunteering opportunities for AUB students through linking with community partners.
